One of my new backdrops in action, whee hee. And I’ve got about seven more! They’re just rolls of tapestry tossed over a big cardboard.
And there is one thing I’d like to tell everyone, it’s about my photo editing. I know I used to edit my photos a lot in the past: I owned (okay, I still own it) a crappy little digicam and thought that heavy editing with GIMP could save my photos. I don’t think it did though. But these days as I have my DSLR, I no longer use any effects, filters, gaussian blurs or such. I use levels – autolevels and adjusting the brightness and contrast from there and fixing the white balance. And occasionally for the photos I submit to my Deviantart account I play with colour curves just because I like ‘em effects. But that’s it, apart from resizing, cropping and adding borders. I’m not ashamed of using GIMP, I just don’t want you to think that I do something that in reality I do not. I do have a certain way of how I make my photos look like, but I like it, and uh. People have a certain style of drawing, this is my style of taking photos. I’m not a professional photographer and never even touched a SLR before I got my own. I just make stuff that I like and put it online. This is my hobby after all :3
(I hate my old photos with passion >_> Gaaah, they’re true eyepoison!)
Oh, and I of course didn’t mean that you are not allowed to critique my photos or say anything neutral or negative. I actually enjoy very much a constructive feedback, or heck, any kinds of feedback. I just want my photos to wake up some kind of reactions, be them positive or negative. “Meh, this does nothing” is the least thing I want to hear ;_; I wish to be able to portray my dolls as I want them to be – strange, beautiful creatures with interesting characters in ‘em.
Whee, a lot of text, it was nice to sit down and think of these things <3
p.s. I listed Frasita on Ebay. I think she is quite symphatetic little thingie – I would have kept her myself if she wasn’t so wanted and expensive.
