Hello there, overexposure, old friend! Haven’t seen you in a while.

In other news, new stuff for Mirwaise, shoes from Fatiao Doll Shop and Chinese 14mm glass eyes in indigo colour. His previous urethanes were bit of a waste because his eyes are really squinty, these work better as they are smaller and brighter. Mr. Not-a-nice-angel looks quite lot like himself now <3

I will soon pack up my stuff and head to spend the midsummer in the countryside. I’ll probably pack up my camera and one of the small dolls, so there might be some Midsummer-y photos also ;3

Sup! We’ve had a fantastic day off, just lounging around and drinking coffee <3 We even ordered a meal home, since this is supposed to be a lazy day, I got some delicious falafel. But as you’re probably more interested in my BJDs than what I ate today, I give you a little shoot with Mirwaise. I’ve promised myself that I’ll try to create either a photoshoot, small or large, or a photostory each weekend since my weeks are so hectic. This may sound strange, but doing creative stuff is the best way of relaxing for me ;3

Also behold my first try of creating t-shirt prints myself with stamps and fabric paint. Oh so messy, but I kinda like the grunged look!

Lots of going in real life now, so I’ll probably be bit more quiet in the dolly world now. Don’t worry, BJDs are more than a hobby, sort of “way of life” to me these days :3 I have ideas for different stories and photoshoots, just need time and inspiration…

Anyway, I wanted to show the fantastic souvenirs my hubby brought me from London <3 Miniature Shakespeare’s plays, and my favourite ones, even! Yes, they include the text of the play too I’m very happy, not just because these are awesome but also because they were given to me by my most important person. This must mean he doesn’t think I’m a complete lunatic, at least hopefully

What’s a girl to do when nerd boys take over the living room? Well, lock herself up in the bedroom and practise some dolly shooting, of course! I wanted to try how my camera’s b&w – setting works :3 I would have liked to take full body shots and more complicated stuff, but our bedroom is full of stuff, laundry, bags…the usual story. Maybe I’ll do something about that the next week, or maybe not.

I’ll concenrate on different kind of crafts from the 1st of December, but before, I finished all my sewing commissions! (Some knitting ones still remain.) I love creating with my hands, but it’s also been nice to get them done! My own dolls have nothing to wear or at least it feels like it, especially the big boys, especially Mirwaise. Luckily I have drafted some new patterns that I can use, making the pattern is the step that I dislike the most. When they are ready, everything feels quite easy…

I wonder when was the last time I took a photoshoot…anyway, it was a beautiful day and I managed to drag J along as my assistant <3 So as we had four hands instead of two, I took Mirwaise with me and went to look at possible shooting locations near my new home. So many pretty places! *_* Espoo is really beautiful, plenty of nature and interesting architecture.

Look who is ready <3 Well, almost ready, he needs his eyes beveled and proper eyes, those 12mms I have are too small. I'm searching the internet for the good eyes, wish me luck. I like him much more now than when he was Heliot, this head feels much more like my doll. Heliot is ethereal and would make an excellent high elf, Kasis is more earthly (or maybe heavenly in Mirwaise's case ;D) and just has more character even in bare sculpt. I'm glad that I switched, I've had bonding problems with Mirwaise and even thought of selling him, but now when things clicked...well, it's a good feeling.

I just need to make him more clothes, all clothes I have for him feel somehow lame >_>

We had our Halloween meetup yesterday; I didn’t bring a camera along this time but luckily jesmo allowed me to show this one. It’s her Nene with the bear hat I made and Enne comforting her cottonheaded twin sister.

Actually I wanted just to show that I did make my dolls Halloween costumes ;D Enne was a little ghost, looking quite much like Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas, and Uncle K…well, he had the same costume as he did in the previous Halloween party, I just pimped it up a little bit >_>; At least they got costumes! It was a fun party, thank you for the company even though I wasn’t extremely social, so tired from the move and all the stress :/

Today we visited Helsinki Craft Fair and no, I didn’t survive without buying stuff. I got me some ribbons and pompom trim, mohair yarn, black beads for my animal hats and licorice There were so much to look at, I definitely have to visit the next year as well!

Oh, and Mirkku got a new spiffy faceup, trust my little Jonna for making my characters looking like themselves <3 We RPG together a lot so she knows my characters inside and outside and I can just toss a head in her direction and tell her to "hey, make this Mirkku!" - and she does. I'll go and pick Mirkku the next week, so I think there might be at least pictures coming >:3

Mirwaise’s new face aka K-Doll’s Kasis, no customs, whee! I quite like the head. It needs some eye bevelling though, and I’m not sure how it will fit my SG body. The head seems quite small and so does the neckhole…his body is currently in Espoo so I’m unable to check it now, but we’ll see!

Feh, I have a feeling my dolly hobby will take a slightly slower pace now. Uncle K is away for a new faceup, Meital needs one + some customization so she’s currently just hanging there. I also sold my Heliot head and bought him a new one ;3 It was an easy decision after all, I must admit that I just don’t like Soom’s faces and his huge elf ears were not good for his character. And I found a better head sculpt, the one that really said “oh boy, I’ll be a good Mirwaise. BUY ME.”

It also disturbed me a little bit that when people looked at my Heliot, they just saw OMG!HELIOT and not Mirwaise ^^; Okay, I just suck at explaining this, but I’ll try: there is such a huge hype around Soom monthlies that people just see the fancy sculpt and not the doll/character underneath. I didn’t sculpt Heliot but I made Mirwaise, and I’ll rather be complimented over creating a good character and styling him well instead over purchasing a wanted doll. Does this make any sense?

Anyhoo, we’ll see what comes of this “new” Mirwaise, I have high hopes for him.

And now when the “main” characters are on break, I’ve had the chance to bond with those of my dolls who do not get so much attention. I made a shirt for Huurre (my D.Lishe boy, do you even remember that I own him? ) and bought stuff for Halla, including a new wig. I think I need to play with my MSDs today.
