A spontaneous idea for today: instead of packing up for a short weekend trip (shhh), let’s take doll photos, yay! Too bad that I ran out of light…

I chose the twins because I just adore them to little pieces. It’s funny, they’ve been with me for four years and I’m only now starting to realize how I want them to be and perfecting their characters and appearances. They’ve changed so much, but their basic natures have remained – Aegis is the noisy, crazy little monkey and Halla is quiet, stern and mysterious. I think they finally told their story to me, and this is good. For a while, that is, I have a bad habit of disliking my old ideas and always coming up with new, better ones. Oh well, I do this for fun and everything is allowed in my dream worlds

…for this summer, probably. And what a sweaty one it was! I’m getting so fed up with this heat >_< Luckily all went well, and we had a very nice time. Except that near us a young gentleman decided it would be great idea to go swim in the park's small pool - butt naked. Ahh, Finnish people and alcohol, always the best combination...not.

I didn't photograph this fine gentleman whose mom would be proud, though. I concentrated on dolls

Hello, what’s up? Today I went to check some new photography locations and found quite the place <3 Halla, my mysterious ghost girl, models since she’s always the one with the least camera time ;_; She’s just very shy one, but sometimes she allows us to peek in her secret worlds.

Our chili farm is growing well, one brave soldier is even producing some peppers already <3

Halla has gone through one of her many transformations, again. Just like her character, her doll form is still a mystery to me. Little quiet solemn girl who prefers to stay in the shadows. However, she’s still dear to me and will always be in her own silent way. She may not stay in the spotlight, but she has her own place in my doll family.

When I styled her, I thought of Anne of Green Gables and other classical girl novels.

Just to remind you folks that I still have my MSDs even though they’ve been bit in the shadow lately, and I’m not exactly sure why. But see, Halla has a new dress, and I’m making some new clothes for Aegis as well <3 Bought some patterns from Dollmore for Aegis, the shirt is huge and would probably fit a SD-sized boy O_o I cut the pieces without their seam allowances, and it still looks so big…we’ll see how it turns out.

I also bought one of my favourite Pokémons, Spheal, as a cheap piraaaatical Chinese plushie and boy does he look wonky. It’s somehow cute though <3 You know, when some things are so ugly that they’re cute?

I’m trying to spark up my dolly interests by doing some small shopping here and there. That’s all that I have energy for since my summer job is just so tiring But I enjoy doing something else than dolls, and luckily it’s weekend! ^_^

It’s been ages since I photographed my MSD duo, and since they both have new eyes, wigs and Aegis has a new face…well, see it for yourself ;3 What do you think?

Recently I got a huge pile of commissions, they kept adding up because I had a little pause with my sewing machine – but now my loyal PFAFF is all set up and I’ve managed to do things out of the way. This is really something I enjoy, being able to make stuff with my hands, and I have this distant dream of being able to be able to support myself with doll crafts, even part-time. It might be impossible, but hey, BJD fandom is growing all the time and being able to go international…it might work out. And what is life without having silly dreams? I remember the time when I dreamt of nothing, and it was nothing that I enjoyed.

Okay, let’s stop the babble and show pictures. I hope you’re not bored of my crafts, because here we go again :3

This one is a favourite, because it’s for a friend who really likes alpacas so I made an alpaca hat! I saw real alpacas at the fair on Sunday and looked through many alpaca yarns. They were just on the expensive side, I know a place where you can get them cheaper ;3 This hat is of course made of alpaca yarn, it’s my favourite kind of yarns. Smooth, somehow slick, thin and it makes excellent doll knittings!

I went outside again, what a brave girl I am \o/ I really wanted to take these at the little creek nearby, but there was a dude measuring the ground or something like that. I’m going to miss that place when I move out, I’ll have to take at least one shoot there still. So I went to the small lake (it’s called ‘Wronglake’, hehe). Halla’s wearing the most perfect dress by Suruni, thank you so much <3

Whee, thanks to Mizya Halla can has a new wig ♥ I simply love Dollga wigs, I think I need more of them. The quality is just so nice, and they have interesting, girly cuts. Now just to decide her eye color so I can finally make that eye order and give her her proper eyes, the ones she’s wearing are still those same Dollmore acrylics…I’m juggling between brown, grey and blue. Maybe deep smoke grey?

(I updated my shop, whee.)

Feh, I have a feeling my dolly hobby will take a slightly slower pace now. Uncle K is away for a new faceup, Meital needs one + some customization so she’s currently just hanging there. I also sold my Heliot head and bought him a new one ;3 It was an easy decision after all, I must admit that I just don’t like Soom’s faces and his huge elf ears were not good for his character. And I found a better head sculpt, the one that really said “oh boy, I’ll be a good Mirwaise. BUY ME.”

It also disturbed me a little bit that when people looked at my Heliot, they just saw OMG!HELIOT and not Mirwaise ^^; Okay, I just suck at explaining this, but I’ll try: there is such a huge hype around Soom monthlies that people just see the fancy sculpt and not the doll/character underneath. I didn’t sculpt Heliot but I made Mirwaise, and I’ll rather be complimented over creating a good character and styling him well instead over purchasing a wanted doll. Does this make any sense?

Anyhoo, we’ll see what comes of this “new” Mirwaise, I have high hopes for him.

And now when the “main” characters are on break, I’ve had the chance to bond with those of my dolls who do not get so much attention. I made a shirt for Huurre (my D.Lishe boy, do you even remember that I own him? ) and bought stuff for Halla, including a new wig. I think I need to play with my MSDs today.
