Armed and dangerous!
…photography-wise, that is. Because I have the best friends ever, I also have even more tapestry rolls and some floor materials <3 I tried one of the plastic floor mat pieces I got and gotta say I like the result very much. I think it's time I finally visit some hardware stores and bought some bigger pieces, because these things work like a charm and look very good. Too bad that all the hardware stores are located quite far, but I already have plans to visit one this weekend on my way to a friend's party :3
And yes, I'm even more armed now because I will go and pick something up this Thursday. It's something quite big and what I've been wanting for a while now. Yes, it's a new camera body
Canon EOS 20D with a recently revampted shutter and all, for a great price. My 350D is getting old, the shutter count is something close to 50K, the viewfinder has some issues...and if you can get a better camera body at the price of repairing the little one - sorry, little one, you lose this time
I'm excited to try the new camera out, I'm really curious to see if I can get even better results and try out new things <3 Happy!
Urgh, I have so many things to do...
p.s. All lovers of Victorian/steampunk/alternative clothing, I recommend you The Secret of Moonacre! The plot is…well, let’s not talk about the plot because it’s really terrible. But the costumes, I tell you! We screamed aloud at them, because they were so utterly fantastic
If you watch it, just concentrate on the setting and the costumes…
Fleamarkets and little crafts
I visited a fleamarket with Kihapuu and found lots of excellent stuff. The next time I’ll have more cash! But I pictured some of my discoveries: my favourite one was a miniature glass globe for them dollies. I had a similar, blue one which was a souvenir from my hubby to me. I just broke it ;_; The same seller had a fantastic birdcage with mechanical bird in it, but 50 euros…oh well, I saw something similar on Ebay selling over 2000 dollars
Bit too much for a doll prop! We also found a MSD-sized doll park bench which at least I gave forward since I have limited space and my MSDs don’t really need one.
I also got some pretty fluffy mohair yarn which makes excellent bear hats (that’s one WIP on Enne’s head), bracelet that I broke apart for cheap glass beads and not pictured, Yashica’s film camera. I thought I might be able to remove its lense and use it on my Canon, but that’s not possible
Oh well, it was cheap as what and now I at least have one working film camera if I feel like shooting on film. There was also a seller selling Russian/CCR memorabilia and Zenit cameras, I of course checked what kind of lenses they had ;3 Too bad they all had the same Helios lense I already own, but I’ll keep looking!
Awww, now I itch to go for an another hunt, I love fleamarkets and this one held in Helsinki’s ice hall will probably become my favourite :3 Luckily they will held more fleamarkets at the end of February <3
Today I took pictures of some stuff I’ve been making lately, they’ll be behind the cut!

Do you know what sucks about the winter, apart it being dead cold at times? Yes, lack of daylight. I’m an evening person so miss Inspiration usually comes to visit me during evenings and early nights…sadly then there is pitch dark outside and even though I have photography lamps, I just don’t like how artificial light looks on photos. Nothing beats natural light!
Okay, this babble was just an excuse to show you some photos of my dollies and new stuff I have for them. Sadly the new things barely show in the photos
Anyway!
I broke the previous antlers and got new ones, PROFIT! Gold, mint green and pink <3 The headdress is mostly by Illves, I did some minor changes.

Yes, she is here finally! Her EMS shipping took forever, and I had to get myself a passport before I could pick her up from the customs, need an official ID to get the package from the customs. But she is here and VERY cute, more slender than I thought that I really like. In the photos she has no proper eyes or faceup, and the light is artificial and I have troubles with that Helios lense and grah how many excuses can I squeeze in this -_-; Nevermind the excuses, I really like her and she’ll be something really fantastic when she is ready *3*

Yes, I still own it, it’s just film camera and shooting on film and developing them is expensive and bothersome…I felt bad for it for just colleting dust, so I thought to at least take out its lense and try to get it work with my Canon EOS. An adapter from Ebay did the trick, although it was pain in the butt first to get it off. I thought I ruined my camera for the good -_-; Oh well, now I know how it’s done!
Here are some test pictures I took with it! The lense is called Helios 44-2, all the way from the USSR. Do you think these look different from my usual photography?
I don’t it like it when folks photograph their dolls with all kinds of junk in the background…and here I did it myself. Oh well.

Yesterday we had a little gossiping sewing gathering at our house, and lo and behold, by accident I finished Enne a new outfit. And then I finally found my My Little Pony accessories and the pulling toy I’ve been looking everywhere. Now Enne is so cute that a little shoot was in order! I am no responsable for any brain damages because she is such a little cupcake ;_;
The outfit consists of a headbow, bubbledress and socks. The dress is made of scrap fabrics and decorated with little watch gear I got from a friend, key and chain <3

Sorry about a bad photo, but this is how I spent gift cards worth of 70 euros on usefull stuff. Missing are some serger threads and new sewing scissors + some sewing machine oil. Yes, I went slightly berserk in Sinooperi and bought beads, sequins, ribbons and embroiredy threads, mostly pink-themed for Meital and my Yrie ;3
By the way, I never knew how expensive this trendy Tilda stuff is O_o
And do you see something suspicious behind all that blingy stuff? Why yes, you do! I already squeed over it in FB and IRC, but that’s my new serger <3 Yes, I got a serger from my workplace, it’s their old one
I tried it and it works just fine, no need to get it repaired, even the cutting knives are in good shape. I made a pair of leggins for Meital and a sleeveless shirt for Mirkku, and I’m in love. It just took me a few tries, because I sewed too close to the edge of the fabric first and surprinsingly, the result was a mess of threads…and I tried really challenging fabric too, my most slippery and thin tricot. But the second shirt went really well :3 Practise, practise!
Why hello there!
Oh look who’s back <3 Jesmoth did him a new faceup and some moddings, and the result is…well, it’s Aegis all the way. I love his boyish little smirk, he looks a little bit otherwordly but just the right amount. He still has all the features I like about Ami sculpt like very round head, big eyes, small mouth and little button nose, but now he looks more like a loud little ADHD rascal he is meant to be. I think he stole those green glass eyes, so Halla will get new ones. I think I also know now what I want with Halla’s style, so the twins are most definitely back ;3
No commentsOh, it’s X-mas?
Have a merry one! I’m still alive, just terribly busy with real life, but now it’s time for the holidays <3
p.s. If anyone is ordering Soom’s new Ai and doesn’t need the special hands, please sell them to me ;D I missed our forum’s split and really wouldn’t want to go to DOA.

I wanted to photograph new Meital a little more simply because she deserves it. To me she is the most wonderful girl in the whole world – and of course to Uncle K as well even though he will never admit it in public ;3 I hope you like the pictures!
